Mixing it up

Soooo, I decided that starting today instead of regaling you with stories of my lovely and delightful big, fat, Cuban family, I will from now on post only YouTube videos of Ukrainian rock bands.

I'm so glad it was an April Fool's Joke, I was already looking through my wardrobe in my mind to see what I had in black to wear as I morn the loss. LOL!!!!

About the same day I listened to these Ukrainian funsters, I saw pictures on Facebook of Janiece Hudgins playing accordian at a worship recording session. (!!) Maybe you should send this video to her...? :-)

Now and then I love making connections with my photos. This is why I don't scrapbook chronologically. I just like to tell my stories. I like it even more when my photos tell a story on their own. I don't even care if the photos are blurry. I figure it's the story that is more important. Such is the case here. Here are Jonathan and Eric admiring the amazing fish tank at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. (This one was taken a few weeks ago.) Mirage Hotel. Las Vegas. 2009. As they stood there, I kept thinking that this particular scene looked familiar somehow... So I searched my older photos and I found this one (taken with my crummy old phone, but that's not important right now). Eric and Jonathan. Birch Aquarium. La Jolla. 2006. Wow. Just wow.

Papas Asadas Recipe - You say potato. I say papa. When you think of Cuban food and side dishes, you're probably going to think of white rice and black beans right off the bat. And you'd be absolutely right. Black beans and rice are totally the quintessential Cuban side dish. But we Cubans eat potatoes. We eat lots of potatoes. In fact, we love potatoes.
